Take a tour nowAt Magnolia, we like to think of ourselves as strong contenders on the digital experience stage. Our platform is built to compete with the best systems—powerful, reliable, and flexible. But behind every powerful system stands a team of Magnolians who, let’s be honest, also know a thing or two about flexing six-packs. Some are real, some… purely virtual. Either way, the spirit is strong.

And September weather was just gentle enough with us so that we could channel that spirit into something that gets us moving, quite literally. “Magnolians on the Move,” the first season of our wellness challenge, launched on the 1st of September and lasted for 30 active days.
Magnolias proved that the same competitive, resilient spirit runs through each of us—whether we are powering through yoga sessions, or just logging steady kilometers of walking, cycling, or kayaking.

The Results Are In
Over the course of the challenge, 42 Magnolians—about 25% of our teams—got moving. And together, we covered an impressive 5,800+ kilometers. And just for context, that would take us from our HQ in Basel to Hong Kong, or it would be just enough for our Singaporean colleagues to visit our HQ.
The Partner Summit Momentum
The energy of the challenge even carried into the Magnolia Partner Summit which you probably heard about already, where Magnolians proved they’re never too tired to move. Many started or ended their days with a run, and the enthusiasm was downright contagious—our partners couldn’t resist joining in! Soon enough, they were lacing up their running shoes and hitting the pavement -or the sand- alongside us. The competitive spirit truly spread beyond Magnolia, turning collaboration into a shared stride toward wellness.

But it wasn’t just about running or cycling. We tracked 16 different activity types that showed the creativity and variety in how we keep fit and energized: running, walking, biking, swimming, yoga, dancing, weight training, table tennis, tennis, badminton, football, hyrox, boxing.

We saw moms walking with strollers, dads biking with kids, and colleagues trying out Hyrox or badminton like Olympic hopefuls. And together we lived our motto:
“Every move counts. Make yours bold.”
The Fuel
Performance requires fuel, of course. For some, it started with a strong Vietnamese coffee, for others a flaky Swiss pain au chocolat. Occasionally, a Carlsberg sneaked in as “liquid motivation.” Whatever the recipe, it was the breakfast of champions that got Magnolians off their desks and into motion.

The Spirit
Some kayaked wild waters, some ran steady kilometers, and others stretched through yoga poses or danced like nobody was watching. We encouraged everyone to log not just their progress but also their breaks—yes, including goat photos. Because showing up regularly is the real marathon.

The Takeaway
This challenge was never about chasing medals or breaking records. It was about moving together—virtually or side by side—and discovering that you don’t need the Swiss Alps to feel alive. A nearby field, a neighborhood park, or even the least scenic living room can still move you forward.

The Sunset Moment
At the end of the day, Magnolians on the Move was about thriving: getting stronger, feeling healthier, and staying connected. But it was also about pausing to appreciate the beauty of the journey.
So here’s to the 42 Magnolians who stepped up, competing, collaborating, and proving that Magnolians don’t just build great digital experiences—we live them. One bold move at a time.
