1997: Magnolia was founded in Basel, Switzerland, by Boris Kraft and Pascal Mangold, driven by a vision to create an open and flexible content management system for the enterprise.

Alain Kugelmann

Co-CEO & Chief Financial Officer

Alain Kugelmann is the Co-CEO and CFO of Magnolia, a role he’s held for over 11 years. Alain leads the company’s financial strategy and has been instrumental in its growth, including regional expansion, two acquisitions, and significant revenue increases. Prior to Magnolia, Alain held senior finance and treasury positions at ABB and ALSTOM, overseeing international funding and corporate finance for major industrial divisions. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, sports, travel, and reading.

Co-CEO & Chief Services Officer

Samuel Staehelin is the Co-CEO and CSO of Magnolia, with over 30 years of experience in IT and new media, and 25 years in leadership roles. At Magnolia, he served as Chief Services Officer, where he led global service operations and successfully delivered large-scale digital experience projects for enterprise clients. Passionate about technology, media, and art, Samuel brings a unique blend of creative and technical insight. Outside of the office, he enjoys sailing, kitesurfing, and traveling.

Chief Product & Technology Officer

Philipp Bracher is Magnolia’s Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). He first joined in 2005, helping drive early product development, and returned in 2024 to lead product and tech strategy. Passionate about modern web frameworks, Philipp also enjoys Zen meditation and making music.

Chief Information Security Officer

Jan Haderka is Magnolia’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), with over 15 years in leadership at the company. Since 2022, he has led security strategy, protecting data and system integrity while shaping Magnolia’s technical foundation. Outside work, Jan enjoys yoga, hiking, climbing, and fast cars.

Chief Revenue Officer & General Manager EMEA

Sebastian Stang is Magnolia’s General Manager for EMEA and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), with over 13 years at the company. He drives growth, builds partnerships, and supports clients through digital transformation. A B2B enterprise software expert, Sebastian plays a key role in driving Magnolia’s market success. Outside work, he’s an avid record collector and DJ.

General Manager Americas

Florian Sacharuk is the General Manager for the Americas at Magnolia, leading all business and operational efforts across the region. With over 14 years in the enterprise software industry, he brings deep expertise in cloud operations, go-to-market strategy, and business growth. Outside the office, he enjoys time with his family, sunshine, and any sporty challenge that comes his way.
