The centerpiece of our 2.2 release is the new unified model registry, a comprehensive system that enables seamless integration with virtually any AI model. This breakthrough feature allows organizations to:

The model registry introduces several key concepts:

AI Tasks: Executable units that contain business logic or call models directly
AI Task Types: Groupings of tasks that share common functionality and interface definitions
Model Adapters: Mappings between task inputs/outputs and model inputs/outputs
This architecture provides unprecedented flexibility, allowing developers to create custom AI workflows while giving content authors a consistent interface regardless of the underlying AI provider.
AI Tasks
AI Tasks are central to the functionality of the Magnolia AI Accelerator. They serve as the executable units that encapsulate both simple and complex logic involving AI models. An AI Task might contain direct business logic like calling an API to retrieve data or call AI models to generate or modify content. These tasks are executed through the commands API, allowing seamless integration and automation within the Magnolia ecosystem.
The application of tasks range from generating a component (an AI Task that is already included in AI Accelerator) to more complex tasks such as getting and analyzing page metrics from a web analytics tool such as Matomo and improving SEO properties based on these insights.
2. Enhanced Component Generation with Model Choice
Building on our popular AI-powered component generation, version 2.2 now leverages the model registry to offer:
