LVM Insurance is one of Germany’s leading insurance providers for individuals and businesses. Founded in 1896, LVM’s growth over the past 125 years has seen their services woven into the fabric of German society, with over 11,000 employees and 14 million insurance contracts.

The Challenge

LVM improves customer experience and agency connections with new digital presence

Working with local agencies to deepen relationships in their region and win contracts has been central to LVM’s business model throughout its history. This community presence has long been supported by their corporate website, which provided content to help customers learn more and for insurance agents to close deals. 

It was essential for LVM to redesign its digital presence. The aim was to provide customers with optimal support in their search for the right insurance and to make it easy for them to contact an insurance agency in their area - in just a few steps. As the company planned how to support customers better, it became clear that their old CMS could not provide the functionality or flexibility they required.

LVM's previous on-premise solution would have demanded excessive development resources to meet the new requirements. In addition, the management and maintenance of the solution proved to be increasingly inefficient in view of the growing digital requirements. What they needed was a solution that they could grow sustainably with, putting cloud hosting at the top of their priority list.

To enable their shift to a digital and cloud-first approach, LVM needed a system that offered enough flexibility to integrate with their existing architecture, but was also able to easily work with modern tools and be far more customizable to their needs.

Magnolia DX Cloud delivered the decentralized cloud solution LVM was looking for to drive their digital transformation and the power to support agents and customers across Germany.

LVM’s regional teams depend on having recent and accurate content available to best support customers and close new deals all across Germany. Magnolia removes the limitations of LVM’s old CMS, by accelerating the page-building and publication process. 

As a fully composable solution, Magnolia gives LVM the flexibility they need to add more functionality and deliver more value for their customers in the long term. Personalization via URL parameters opened the doors to tailored local support for customers seeking assistance online, while custom web components enable useful tools such as a local agency finder. 

Utilizing Magnolia’s multisite capabilities, LVM was also able to quickly migrate their career site from the old CMS to Magnolia DXP.  Publishing company and job details as well as benefits or various media files is much more efficient, with no additional cost or effort required, as it shares the same content infrastructure as the marketing website.
